As you find yourself hustling and bustling this time of year,
are you – at any point, halted in your tracks by the abundance that fills your
life? We are busy accumulating and
giving. There is a flow of transactions occurring
all around us. As I fall into a trance
this time of year, weighted down by the flurry of money coming and going, people
coming and going, while still facing the day to day reality of laundry, dishes,
and grocery shopping, I am amazed.
Truly, how can
Our purpose is two-fold.
We are here as unique beings to receive something from the world as well
as to give of ourselves, that which only we have – a one and only time that
this world will ever see, kind of gift. This ain’t no cheesy infomercial for the next
great magic wand to whip up a healthy air fried meal for your family in 5
minutes. No, we’re talking the real deal
magic that resides in you. I just
got goose bumps thinking about it. You

I really, really enjoy getting gifts for other people. However, there is one caveat to this endeavor
that I covet. If I feel pressured by
time, as in I forgot and didn’t allow myself enough idea generating opportunity
to bring an idea to fruition – or all of a sudden I’m told it’s my turn to gift
somebody something and I end up in panic mode, I loathe the activity. I require time for heartfelt gifts and having
the time for this brings me great delight.
I’ve often thought,
When photos were first taken there were only a few people
that were really considered capable of this daunting task of photography. Over time this has changed. At this moment I am willing to bet that each
of us has access to a camera on our phone.
I am sure the frontiers of photography would be baffled to fall into the
present day and see how amazing we’ve all become at taking photos in a matter
of seconds and seeing the product of our work immediately. It really is quite
I have been away and back again. The work while I was away did not itself go away. Dare I say it multiplied? In some odd and inconceivable way, it’s like the demands of the day-to-day were bunnies that couldn’t get enough of each other! Alright, I think I’ve painted the picture well enough. Let’s move beyond the dirty laundry. We’ve all thrown a fit When you feel like time is not something you have any
control over and you never have enough of it, what do you do? Do you
We all have moving parts in our day. Parts that include our obligations to family,
work, friends, our community, and to ourselves.
How we allocate that time and not fall into overwhelm can be a daunting
task. Dare I say – another task to add
to the list. The calendar We start with our basic calendar and all that gleaming open
space. Many calendars have the time of
the day running along the side or somewhere embedded in each day. We run along this time – a meter that show
I think we all struggle with time in one way or another. We have clocks and the sun to remind us of it’s passing and a want of more, unless you’re trapped in your head. Trapped There have been times in my life when I have willed time away and asked for things to hurry up because the burden of waiting for the passing of time was too much. These were the times in my life when I felt most lonely and out of touch with other humans, further isolating myself. However, it was als
